You Are My Salvation - When the Forest Sleeps EP incl. CJ Art, Kay-D, The Digital Blonde [CMDR009]

‘When the Forest Sleeps’ is an inspiring new release on Cloudy Moon Records from Swedish producer Ico aka You Are My Salvation.  The release stands out within the deep dark genre of tranquil, dreamy and progressive sounds.

The EP has four remix coming from proclaimed talents like CJ Art, Kay-D and The Digital Blonde making it an absolutely great package.

First up, we have the Original version with a rhythmic bassline and hard beats followed by atmospheric pads creating a trancy mood making you feel as if you’re travelling into the deep nods of the dimensional space. Not to forget the synths peaking in and out gives a nice chunky psychedelic vibe to the whole tune.

Next we have polish producer CJ Art presenting us two versions. The Downtempo mix version leads off to hypnotic start flowing into carefully woven break beats layered on some mellow chords. The tempo progression creates a mysterious mood, like something is about to happen as it transitions into a very deep illusion mood making it sound very serene. Wherein the remix version,  is a more moody remix with a chugging groove.  The bassline carries a strong progressive vibe followed by ethereal strings,  impeccable percussions & drum pattern. Again maintaining a spacey & melodic rhythm, the work of the synths create a deep swirling pavement of well blended sounds.

Following it, we have Hungarian talent, Kay-D approaching the tune very intelligently. With a dragging rumbling bassline the track starts off into a nice techy rhythm. One of the best part is those sleazy vocals meddling in and out the breakdown creating a nice groove along some nice synths that carries a emotional drive to it. Sounds wonderful impressive work right here.

Lastly we have The Digital Blonde bringing us his version of the tune with a brilliant psychedelic remix. Starting with a heavy stomping bassline & hard beats infused with sfx and trippy psy elements . The breakdown flows into a slow play of moods & melodies leisurely heading into a surprising build up with banging beats picking back the heavy pace. This sure is addictive.

The EP is a complete package with each remix carrying it’s own distinctive sounds. Again a good team of talented artists making it another great release.

Zibe - Zeleia EP incl. Ego Progressus, Rogier & Stage Van H, Timewave [CMDR008]

The 8th release of Cloudy Moon Records comes from Zibe, a long time contributor of the progressive scene. Zibe is hailing from Istanbul, Turkey has started to work in the music industry in the mid '90s as a sound technician, later he improved himself technically with the work experience he received from the organizations he worked with. With the spread of electronic music in Turkey by the late 90's he developed a passion for progressive house and techno genre. In 2005 he started to produce his own tracks, which can be labeled with words like dramatic, dark and melancholic sentimentality.

His latest production called 'Zeleia' which has a mystic, melodic approach, spiced with an exotic, narrative female vocal. On the remix duties we can welcome Ego Progressus, Rogier & Stage Van H and Timewave.

Ego Progressus operates with a lively, spiritual background filled with lots of spacey synth sounds.

Rogier & Stage Van H is on fire lately, they just lifted the whole track to the stratosphere with floating textures and an overall gentle touch on the original tune.

Timewave needs no description at all. Antti is the master of the euphoric side of progressive house, and he proved once again his musical ability to fill up a rework with his own ideas which goes hand in hand with the main theme, resulting a colorful piece of art. - Greyloop

UnknownSoul - Un-ReBorn EP [CMDR007]

The portugese Unknown Soul project is the source of happiness for two long time - dance music fanatic - friends, who started to get involve in the scene in 2010, with playing on private parties as DJ's. As their main idea they wanted to be part of the creative side, by writing their own tracks. It came true in 2014, when they started to build their own sound using Ableton.

Their debut on Cloudy Moon Records becomes the 7th release of the label, the EP's called UnRe-Born including 5 originals. All of these tunes merging a lot of influences from trance to progressive and psy. We go through some strict beats pumping, with a huge hint of psy-characteristic, topped with minimalitic attitude in the melodic section. - Greyloop

My Friend & I - Geb EP incl. Hypnotic Duo, Robert K [CMDR006]

My Friend & I is no other than the lithuanian producer Valdemaras Baranovskis aka Weepee, who kept this alterego for his more melodic and floating productions. Cloudy Moon Records had the opportunity to catch him under this moniker with a complete EP including three originals, 'Alfa', 'Beta' and 'Geb', and two additional remixes from 'Geb' done by progressive house veterans Hypnotic Duo and Robert K.
'Alfa' starts with a two minutes long intro, showing some soundtrack writing skills, 'Beta' becomes a percussion maniac, but both tracks having an overall bittersweet Middle East touch in the atmosphere.
'Geb' running a beautiful female vocal sample through the whole composition, while a complex melody operating well with the hypnotizing background.
Hypnotic Duo polished up the original bits, added their own ingredients to make it more accessible for tech-house lovers.
Robert K filled up his version with a huge dose of dark power and dropped some mysterious effects too, balanced it right to make a fit with the original textures. - Greyloop

J-Sevilla - Lights & Shadows EP incl. Phoebus, Ilias Kat, Daniel Gomez [CMDR005]

Jorge Sevilla aka J-Sevilla hailing from Mexico City, is an aspiring young producer with a huge new wave influence back in his childhood. He admired artists and bands like Depeche Mode, OMD, Erasure, just to name a few. He felt insuperable passion for techno and progressive house as an adult, so he started a dj and producer carrier. As a producer he appeared on such label's roster like BCSA, Abstract Space, Underground Music, Mystic Carousel, Lynx, and now on Cloudy Moon Records. The Lights & Shadows EP - which is the 5th release on Cloudy Moon - contains two originals - Lights, Lights & Shadows - and three remixes written by Daniel Gomez, Phoebus and Ilias Kat. Lights in original mix impress us with a twisted arp melody which gives a decent taste to the whole track, and became an alfa & omega of the production. In Daniel Gomez was more in a laidback mood, selected a smooth house background for his ideas, he wrote a different melodic approach and just used the vocal and some additional samples from the remix pack. Phoebus created a powerful breakbeat version, with a creative usage of the original parts. Lights & Shadows is a tribal driven, euphoric piece, with a sinister feel in the melodic section. Ilias Kat merged his dreamy ingredients with the main production, tame the raw output into a floating journey. - Greyloop
